When the barbedwire slipped in by Joakim Becker

One may describe many of Becker’s poems as truly haiku-esque. Consider the breath, not only the delivery but also the impact. So many poems in this collection will either make you guffaw or gasp, sucker-punches hidden in jokes and puns and this is what drew me to translate Joakim from Swedish to English.

I expierienced his voice and wanted to share it with the many English speakers who came in contact with Joakims poetry, and his stoic caracter which contained such a deep flow of energy and thought.
